The merger/acquisition by Telektron Hazardous Area Products of Expo Safety Systems in the Fall of 1998 resulted in the creation of the industry's most extensive supplier of purge and pressurization systems worldwide.

Expo Technologies, Inc are specialists in the design, fabrication and application of purge and pressurization methodology to protect electrical equipment installed in hazardous areas.

Their capabilities have extended internationally with certification to CENELEC standards for the European market, including EN 50 016 Ex p since 1983 through SIRA and PTB, and include North American certification to NFPA496, 1993 through CSA, FM, and UL(C) as well as compliance to AS2380 pt4, 1994 by Standards Australia.

Services and resources extend to supply of pressurization systems coupled with pressurized enclosures, and combined with full certification verification by an Expo Technologies technician offering an opportunity for full certification to CENELEC EN50 016.

Additional products include 30 sizes of flameproof boxes to EN50 018, such intrinsically safe (EEx i) technology products as on-line bar code readers, data entry and display terminals, keyboards, pneumatic solenoid valves, and access control systems.

Expo Technologies have directly supplied over 12,000 purge and pressurization control systems and more than 3,000 pressurized enclosures to target clients in the Oil, Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Bio-tech, and Plastics industries worldwide.

As evidence of the company's total commitment to hazardous area technology, Expo Technologies provide delegates on six BSI technical committees, the Chairman of both CENELEC and IEC EX p committees, and represent all Group II manufacturers on the BASEEFA certification management board.
