MONITEUR was founded in 1992 with the mission to provide industries
with advanced solutions for their valve status indication and
control. Moniteur's innovative second generation valve position
indication designs offer vastly improved local indicators over
the original design. Inherent platform design benefits enhance
field reliability and performance.
The Indicator:
Moniteur's local indicator is free from any decals or paint that
fade or deteriorate in plant washdowns and in sunlight exposure.
It is additionally sealed from the environment with a compressed
o-ring reducing ingress of water and preventing fogging. The Moniteur
indicator offers 100% color change indication with 360° visibility
and operation reliability to over 1,000,000 cycles. The Ektar®
indicator cover has superior resistance to impact, UV and chemical
attack. It has no flanges which would be subject to cracking during
installation or hard use, and houses an indicator that is infinitely
adjustable for accurate synchronization with the actuator.
The Enclosure:
Moniteur builds their product from a solid platform that includes
a cover compression seal to preclude water ingress during plant
washdowns or inclement weather, coupled with a aeronautically
designed internal stainless steel shaft lockring, which is protected
from the environment with an internal o-ring. All enclosure threads
are blind-tapped to preclude thread exposure to the environment.
Secondarily, they are protected via a beveled screw head bottom
making up to the enclosure cover. Designs are available for any
hazardous locations and offer a choice in materials of aluminum,
hard-anodized aluminum, cast stainless steel, or Zytel® high-impact
thermoplastic with molded inserts.
Internal Design:
Switches and terminal strip are all labeled for easier and more
accurate wiring. The terminal strip is angled at 15° to allow
easier access and connection of installation wiring. Mechanical
switches are enclosed in a protective housing jacket that safeguards
maintenance crews against electric shock during switch installation
and adjustment.
Switches and Sensors:
As a general overview switches and sensors are available to interface
with any plant control system. Offerings range from the robust,
basic mechanical switch with higher operating forces and resistance
to freeze up to Tungsten TTL for high current applications
to Rhodium and Bifurcated TTL for low voltage/low
current DC applications. NAMUR, PNP or NPN
inductive sensors are offered to interface with control systems
found in today's modern process plants as well as advanced ASi
and DeviceNet interface modules offered for networking
process valves' systems.
